In The Air
When Mary left town on that cold winter night
with a young musician from a traveling band
excited to travel and see the bright lights
Johnnie was the furthest thought on her mind
The next day Johnnie found Mary was gone
he cursed the day music came to town
he swore that this would never happen again
the end of Winters Dance Parties just begin
They rode into town,
in their wings made of steel
the ground shook so hard
we almost ran to the hills
Young people came out to greet the band
the sound of music made the crowds smile
the band started playing in the city square
music and laughter filled the air
Everywhere, the music plays on . . . .
People were dancing in the streets
sharing songs and happy memories
the band struck a song from days gone by
Mary and Johnnie danced till the sun came up
The curse was broken as the music played
spirits lifted to the sky in praise
the children sang endless melodies
a Winters Dance Party memory
In the air, everywhere the music played on . . . .
